Safe Ride

The Office of Campus Safety operates the Safe Ride program to provide an escort for community members that do not have safe transportation or a group of friends to walk with at night. The program utilizes a combination of students and uniformed Campus Safety Officers to provide either walking or driving (depending on availability) escorts for students. Remember that there is safety in numbers, so groups of three or more are encouraged to walk. Safe Rides are limited to groups of one or two people during operational hours and are limited to on-campus locations for pick-up and drop-off. Please keep in mind there may be a wait time during peak demands for service.

To get a Safe Ride escort: — Please call 740-587-6623 from your cell or 6623 from a campus phone.

Hours of Operation

The Safe Ride program is in operation seven nights a week:

  • Monday-Sunday: 6:00pm-2:00am

Medical Transports

Medical transports will be provided on campus with the notification of Campus Safety by a member of the Health Services Staff or the Academic Support Office that a student has a medical need for transportation around campus.

Medical transports are limited to the affected student and only given to and from class or to meet with athletic trainers or medical personnel on campus.
