Bestselling author Amor Towles to speak at Denison

August 31, 2023

Denison University will host bestselling author and Denison parent Amor Towles for a special appearance as part of the university’s annual Big Red Weekend celebration.

During “An Evening with Amor Towles” at 7 p.m. Sept. 29, the author will speak about his works, which include Rules of Civility (2011), A Gentleman in Moscow (2016), and The Lincoln Highway (2021). The event is free and open to the public, though tickets are required and seats are limited.

Towles’ novels have collectively sold more than six million copies and been translated into more than 30 languages. Both Bill Gates and President Barack Obama included his books on their annual book recommendation lists.

Born and raised in the Boston area, Towles graduated from Yale College and received a master’s in English from Stanford University. After working as an investment professional for over 20 years, he now devotes himself full time to writing in Manhattan, where he lives with his wife and two children.

Towles won’t be the only Denison parent on The Hill during the university’s annual Big Red Weekend. The campuswide event draws families, alums, and friends for a weekend of arts exhibitions, live performances, sporting events, and more.
