Biography

Richard Brown helps lead student life at Denison University, where he focuses on creating programs and experiences that support student success, leadership, and a strong campus community. He has guided initiatives such as Posse and Paving the Way, both designed to give students the tools and support they need from the moment they arrive at Denison through graduation and beyond. Richard also guided the Center for Belonging and Inclusion through a period of growth and stability, helping students feel more connected to campus and confident in the resources available to them. His work is centered on making sure students are equipped to thrive academically, socially, and personally during their Denison journey.

With a background in student leadership development and program design, Richard enjoys bringing big ideas to life in ways that directly benefit students. He is especially interested in how campus climate and organizational culture shape the student experience, and he works closely with staff and colleagues to align student life initiatives with Denison’s broader goals. At the heart of his approach is a belief that every student deserves a meaningful, supportive, and empowering college experience, one that prepares them not only for success at Denison, but also to thrive in an increasingly diverse world after graduation.
